dh Employment Protection Scheme

Providing solutions to safeguard your business

Our 'dh Employment Protection Scheme' provides you with employment advice from a nominated employment lawyer and insurance cover for tribunal claims against your company, all in return for a fixed monthly fee.

How will the Scheme benefit my business?

Once you have signed up to the Scheme, your nominated employment lawyer will visit you to discuss your specific concerns and to understand your business.  A bespoke package will then be prepared for you comprising:-

  • A contract for each employee;
  • Disciplinary and grievance procedures;
  • Key employment policies;
  • Standard letters and management guidelines;
  • 09.00 - 17.00 telephone advice;
  • Employment law training for key staff, including seminars and regular email bulletins on developments in the law;
  • Automatic review of your contracts and employment policies, to make sure they are up-to-date with the latest developments and so legally compliant;
  • Insurance backing for tribunal awards and legal costs;
  • Quarterly newsletter for businesses.

In addition, you and your employees will be able to take advantage of discounts on the cost of business and private client advice available from other specialist lawyers in the firm.

How much will it cost?

The actual costs may vary as they are subject to our assessment of the employment documentation and the insurance premium will be notified to you separately.  However if you do wish to discuss the potential costs for your business before completing and returning the application form, please either telephone a member of our employment team on 01825 762281 or email employment@dawson-hart.co.uk

I am interested.  What should I do now?

Please download and complete the application form below and return it to us with copies of your current employment contracts, policies and any employee handbook.  We will acknowledge receipt.  You will then be contacted within five working days with a no obligation quotation for your business.  If you require an urgent assessment or simply want to discuss the scheme further, please telephone our employment team using the details below.

If your business already has up-to-date employment contracts and policies, this will be reflected in your membership fees and we will simply ensure your documentation continues to be legally compliant, plus providing the other services available to your business under the Scheme.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Glossary

Employment contract:

A contract between an employer and an employee. This differs from other contracts in that it is governed by employment legislation - which takes precedence over normal contract law.

Restrictive covenant:

Is often included in long-term contracts and contracts of employment to stop the parties working with competitors during the period of the agreement and for some time thereafter. However, unless carefully written the courts will see them as being a restraint of trade and not enforce them.   In property matters it is a provision in a deed limiting the use of a property

Service contract:

Directors and officers of a company are usually given service contracts that are different to a contract of service or employment contract. This is because directors and officers are not always employees and the effect of employment law is different.

Mediation:

An alternative method of resolving disputes where the parties reach their own agreement with the guidance of a trained mediator.
