A fantastic sum of money raised!

We are delighted to announce that we have raised over £4,250 for Sussex Support Services CIC who have been our charity of the year for the past two years.

Sussex Support Services provides day activities for older people in East Sussex living with dementia, Parkinson’s, and other extra care needs. Unfortunately, they had to close their day centres during the lockdown restrictions, but they were able to continue with one-to-one telephone support and the occasional one-to-one face to face meetings weather dependent. They are now open again and are helping so many people in our community.

As with so many events we had to cancel our annual Easter Egg Hunt and we could not have our much-loved Barn Dance. However, our staff did not want to be defeated so they organised a socially distanced run, took part in a Colour Obstacle Run and completed the very challenging Beachy Head 10km two years running.

We like to help a new charity every year however with 2020 being a very challenging year for fundraising we decided to fundraise for Sussex Support Service in 2021 and we are very glad we have

Margaret Dodé-Angel (Founder & Director) had these words to say:-

“A huge thank you for all your support over the past two years. It has meant so much to our small organisation and enabled us to do so much and carry on! You and the team have raised a phenomenal £4,250 over the past 2 years and under the circumstances that is an incredible achievement. With match funding through the crowdfunding of some of the money it has gone even further to support the continuation of the service into the future through this challenging time.

We have been able to provide Christmas lunch and a party for the past two years with the money raised and put on extra entertainment for the service users. We have bought a bean to cup coffee machine for the service users to enjoy tasty coffee and foamy hot chocolates which they are loving!

We are looking to buy some more tabletop games that the service users have requested and all money will go towards enhancing the activities we have on offer at Victoria Pavilion. Thank you”

The pictures below show the team at the Colour Run, Beachy Head 10km where Margaret Dodé-Angel (Founder & Director) came along to support Laura Manton and the service users at Sussex Support Services enjoying their Christmas lunch.
