On Good Friday, Dawson Hart held their annual Good Friday Easter Egg Hunt, and it was an egg-cellent day, despite the April showers!

The Uckfield community turned out in great numbers to enjoy the day’s festivities, helping us raise an incredible £1,400 for our Charity of the Year, The Friends of Eastbourne Hospital. It was truly a team effort, with our extended Dawson Hart team of partners, colleagues, and their families, going above and beyond. From baking cakes and running stalls to collecting prizes for the tombola, everyone played a part in making the day so special.

The day proved to be a thrill with the games supplied, including our ‘crack the code’ Easter egg hunt, a prize elephant toy – named Sophie – our ‘guess the amount of sweets’ gravity cake that had 777 pieces of chocolate on it (baked by one of our very own), and a face painting station where little customers became bunnies, chicks and even minions.
But that wasn’t all! We also had an incredible bake sale, a BBQ, a children’s tombola with both soft and hard toys, an arts and crafts station, a bouncy slide and a lucky dip carrot game – the Easter Bunny even paid a visit!

The special day was made even greater by seeing the joy on the children’s faces and also knowing that we had raised an incredible amount for our charity.
We’re incredibly grateful to our generous sponsors who helped make the day possible – The Stores Dept and Peter Oliver Homes – whose contributions ensured every participant was rewarded with an Easter egg.
The event was further brought to life by the amazing support of the incredible Uckfield Rugby Club and A2Z Events, and our brilliant compere Alex Butcher.
We are so pleased to be supporting the Pevensey Ward of the Eastbourne Hospital, and we were able to donate some cakes and Easter Eggs to them after the event.
It was a wonderful display of community spirit on Good Friday, and we’re so thankful to everyone who supported us. We hope you had as much fun as we did, and we can’t wait to do it all again next year – hopefully with a bit more sun!
