Running for Sussex Support Services

Laura Manton, Business Development Director and a member of the Wills, Probate and Trusts Team will be putting on her running shoes for the third time to take part in the Beachy Head 10km run which is thought to be one of the most challenging 10km runs in the country!

The run will take place on Sunday 24th October to raise money for Sussex Support Services which is our charity of the year.

Please click HERE to sponsor Laura as this will encourage her to keep running whilst helping Sussex Support Services continue their amazing work.

Coronavirus and lock down has affected everyone and has impacted older people in our community and their carers.

Sussex Support Service CIC provides day activities for older people in East Sussex living with dementia, Parkinson's and other extra care needs. Providing carer's with support, information and essential respite care in a day centre in Uckfield.

Now more than ever it is vital they have additional funds to support their isolated service users and their carers during this challenging time

We have not been able to hold our usual fundraising events including our annual Easter Egg Hunt or our Barn Dance but on Saturday 26th June 2021 a team from Dawson Hart took part in the Colour Obstacle Rush at Brighton Racecourse to raise money for the Charity.

The participants ran a 5k obstacle race whilst being powder painted! There was some adaptations due to covid including taking part socially distanced whilst wearing masks but with so many charities in much need of help and support at the moment we are very glad the event was able to go ahead. As many of us are working from home, it was extra special to actually catch up with colleagues face to face.  As you can see from the pictures, we all had a great time and are very pleased to announce we have raised over £525 for Sussex Support Services.

With the money we have raised over the last 18 months Sussex Support Services have been able to provide service users with 15 musical sessions with pianist and accordion player. This has brought such joy and laughter to those who would otherwise be at home with no social contact. Thank you to everyone who has helped us so far. Please continue to support us if you can.
