A team of Dawson Hart ladies took part in the Chestnut Tree Night to Remember on Saturday 14 May. This involved a 4 or 10 mile walk along Eastbourne Seafront starting at midnight.

The night began at 11pm when we assembled at the Sovereign Centre and took part in an energetic warm up with the other 700 ladies taking part. The Mayor of Eastbourne attended to cheer us all and even took part in the warm up!

The array of glow sticks, tutus and flashing lights created an amazing atmosphere and the 125 volunteers assembled along the course were on hand to cheer us all on. It was only when one of the volunteers said ‘Good Morning’ that we realised what time it was, as the energy and spirit of the ladies walking made us forget it was the middle of the night!

We ventured around Sovereign Harbour for the first 4 miles, before heading back along the seafront, past the pier and the Wish Tower. We turned around at Holywell and headed back to the finish line at the Sovereign Centre.

The highlight for all the ladies taking part was definitely the ‘chocolate station’ at mile 8! We were told about this pit stop at the very beginning and it was great motivation as we headed along the seafront and definitely didn’t disappoint!

The walk took us between 3-4 hours. At the finish, we were presented with a medal, a bacon roll and a cup of tea.

With over £500 raised, it was definitely a Night to Remember!
